The Building that is now home to the Historical Society began as the First National Bank of Pomeroy. Above is a photo of the building taken in 1965 when it was the German Mutual Insurance Company building.
Historical Society Improvements to Museum
The Historical Society has made several improvements to the Museum located at the east corner of
1st and Main. On most 2nd Saturdays you will find them serving breakfast or lunch at the Community Building.

Steve White with help from the prisoners from NCCI at Rockwell City removed the drop ceiling, pulled long rods through roof and completely repainted entire main room. New Roof in September of 2006.

Covered brick wall with paneling and put a slotted 4 x 8 sheet on the south wall of middle room going to bathrooom, new floor, replaced light fixture with strip lighting. $379.00

Covered brick wall waterproofed and drywall (upperoom), texture was done by Don Langenwalter $1160.00
