Special City Council Meeting
Call to Order: 7:05 p.m. by Mayor Gene Becker
Roll Call: D DeVore, S Juilfs, C Loots, C Meyer, R Bachman

City Hall: The council members and Mayer met for second round interviews of two candidates for the Chief of Police position. A discussion of candidates, their qualifications, and wages/benefits followed after the interviews. A motion was made by Bachman and seconded by DeVore to hire Lorie Gerdes as Chief of Police on the condition that she meets the minimum standard for Iowa Law Enforcement Officers.
Roll call: Ayes: Bachman, Juilfs, Meyer, DeVore and Loots. Nays: None. Motion Carried. Motion was made by Meyer and seconded by DeVore pay Chief Gerdes an annual salary of $29,000.00 for six months and after six months, and adequate performance of Chief of Police duties, to increase annual salary to $30,000.00. Roll call: Ayes: Bachman, Juilfs, Meyer, DeVore and Loots. Nays: None. Motion carried.
